Geography

Area wise Russia is the largest country in the world. It covers much of Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. The country is stretched from Baltic Sea in the west to the Pacific Ocean in the east, from Arctic Ocean in the north to the Black sea and Caucasus in the south. It is bordered by sixteen countries. The land of Russia is bordered with many countries such as from northwest to southeast it is bordered with Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and North Korea. The maritime borders are also shared with Japan by the Sea of Okhotsk and the U.S. state of Alaska across the Bering Strait.
